Facebook is a strange creature. It’s a creature because people love it. Or hate. Anything that creates strong attachment is like a living thing. When my teenagers wants something from me they post it to my timeline ’cause it’s the place where I practically live. I’m an online marketer and that’s a big excuse to be a part of a Facebook population. Now when my kids spend half on their waking hours on social network – it’s a different story, but I’m not going there. I want to talk about numbers and engagement. Does it really matter how many fans your business page acquire?

About a month ago my colleague attended a seminar “Social media marketing for businesses”. It was a two week course that mainly thought people on how to set up a Facebook Business Page. And yes, the training was not free. I could not understand what’s a big deal and why people need to pay money in order to understand how to set up a Facebook page. Today the Internet is flooded with whitepapers and articles about new Facebook timeline design for business pages. And again I’m wondering what the scream is about?
